Instructional Leadership
  • Courses Taught: Foundations in Drawing, Mold Making, Foundry, Metal Working, Methods and Materials, and Objects and Ideas. 
  • Delivered expert instruction across specialized studio  processes, including mold making (various materials and techniques), non ferrous metal casting (lost wax investment and green sand techniques), metal fabrication (welding, forming, finishing) and sculptural practices (intermediate and advanced levels).
  • Mentored students in the development of their artistic vision and technical proficiency through individualized feedback and formal critiques.
  • Introduced students to contemporary art practices and historical precedents relevant to sculpture, and drawing. 
  • Demonstrated curricular agility by successfully instructing specialized Foundation units during faculty leave. Foundations in 2D Form and Content, and Foundations in Drawing. 
Technical Operations & Studio Oversight
  • Directed the maintenance and daily operations of the Department’s Wood, Metals and Plaster Shop; provided safety and technical support for Ceramics and Printmaking. 
  • Managed departmental procurement and shop inventories, overseeing budgeting and purchasing protocols for Sculpture, Ceramics, Printmaking and other instructional areas as needed. 
  • Coordinate safety and material demonstrations for students and faculty.
  • Liaised with the Department Chair/Administrative Assistant to ensure operational continuity. 
  • Engineered a high quality, safe, friendly, and collaborative studio environment by maintaining complex systems, (dust, fume, vapor), and equipment. 
Safety, Training, & Compliance
  • Maintain administrative continuity by providing cross-functional support building access and departmental operations. 
  • Train students and faculty in the safe and proper use of all shop tools.
  • Developed and implemented safety training modules, procedure and records for all students and faculty. 
  • Maintain institutional compliance through Safety Data Sheet management, and building access coordination.
Institutional Service and Committee Engagement
  • Search Committee Member: Contributed to department growth as a Search Committee member, evaluating candidate portfolios and conducting interviews.
  • Assessment and Recruitment: Served on annual student assessment panels and actively represented the department at university recruitment events to build prospective students  relationships.

  • Taught a foundation-level course exploring the relationship between form, content, and material through lectures, demonstrations, and studio projects.
  • Developed and delivered a comprehensive syllabus and project assignments focusing on fundamental 3D concepts, including but not limited to additive, subtractive, and assemblage and relevant concepts. 
  • Provided individualized feedback and mentorship to a diverse student body, guiding them from ideation through final realization of sculptural works.
